I am currently in the process of re-rendering 16 videos: Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa’s story quests and Chapter I Act IV (the Dainsleif interlude chapter); 4 languages each. This is because I just found out a few hours ago that the intro/title music gets cut instead of fading. It’s a minor quip but it’s very jarring especially since it’s the first 15 seconds of the videos. Before this, I was already in the process of recording Chapter II: Prologue (starting the journey to Inazuma) and so I plan to continue this after the re-rendering job is done. It is now 2024 and the channel is still at 108 subscribers. 16 of them came when I started sharing my work on Reddit less than a month ago. Most of my work is still at 0 views and I am starting to wonder if this is worth working on especially with everything that’s going on IRL.
It’s been more than 2 years since I created the Genshin Cinematics YouTube channel. My first upload was the Oceanid live wallpaper since I thought it was going to be more useful to people and it was easier to make. These wallpapers have their users on in Wallpaper Engine’s Steam Workshop (around 10 to 50 or so per wallpaper) but honestly, the motivation is starting to wane.
A little bit of history: This is now my 3rd attempt at making a watchable version of the game. The first 2 were Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X. After the first was met with a cease and desist from Disney, I discontinued the FFX one. Genshin Impact has had a uh… big impact on my life. Its godly music, the beautiful environments, and the way they just handle the production has been a motivating factor in trying to bring this game to the eyes of non-gamers. To be honest, I’m still very excited about getting to the Sumeru arc. I have no idea about the Fontaine story yet since I have not gotten to that part on my main account but I simply cannot get myself to ignore it since I saw the Winter Night’s Lazzo trailer (whatever they mean with those 3 words).
Welp, to heck with the views. Onward to Chapter IV!
