I have really enjoyed the stories of Genshin Impact and how they’re presented in and outside of the game. This is the only reason I’m doing this. I’ve been posting watchable Archon Quests and Events since 2022. These videos are NOT just recordings of gameplay. The goal of this project was/is to make them watchable in all the spoken languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) and make them feel like a movie or a series: irrelevant gameplay and loading screens were removed, transitions were made more appropriate, everything was recorded without music and was added during editing. In-game subtitles are available in their spoken language.
Work Involved
Looking back on it, I realize I’ve poured a lot of time working on these. I think it takes me around 40 hours’ worth of work for each video. For those who are interested, here are some of the things that need to be done for these videos:
- Grind characters/levels
- Grind the darned Traveler
- Finish prerequisite world quests
- Normalize all audio vs music
- Find the background music used or find more appropriate ones
- Encode and time English subtitles for the non-English videos
- Create chapter intro and outro screens (the ones that say “Started” and “Quest Completed”)
- Set the in-game time of day appropriate for the scene
- Use, grind, and re-play the scenes in my backup accounts in case I make a mistake: recording issues, camera mouse control, etc.
